Fish...No Thank You!

(**the videos will not load because of how slow our Internet is. We are going to try to go to a Internet cafe sometime and will see if it is faster there. I'm bummed cus I really wanna show these neat videos. ugh!)

Well it was our second day of classes today and it was a good day! The weather has finally gotten a little more sunny. I don't think I mentioned this, but since we have been here it has not been NZ's regular hot, sunny, summer. Tanisha (aka. Nisha or Nish) said that it has been weird cold weather for NZ this time of year. Every day so far we have had jackets with us and the wind has been blowing, making it a little chilly (it has also been rainy). But today the sun was out a lot more and we were actually starting to get a little sweaty! It was nice. We are going to the beach tomorrow for our activity with everyone so I hope that the weather stays nice and hot for us!!

Because of the changes that have taken place with BYU's education program, me and my four roommates have to take some different classes than the rest of the 16 girls that are down here with us (because we are in the new program and they are in the old one). So while the other girls are taking the assessment class that we have already taken last semester, us four get to take a management class together on our own. We have a packet and books with a bunch of different assignments that we have to get done each day. It is kind of fun working together on our own without a teacher! But then we get back with the other 16 girls, after lunch, for our Literacy class with our NZ teacher.

Doing our ElEd 302 Management class together, apart from everyone else.

Lunch time. The sun was out today :)

Our line outside for lunch!

Our church building and "school" (I liked the flowers so I took
 this picture).

We had to go to the store again today and we saw these fish out fresh to
buy. I got the heebie-jeebies just looking at them.

Squid. That's all I have to say.

Don't do it Brooke!

In NZ they leave the shrimp heads on for you to take off when you
eat them! Good thing I don't like shrimp in the first place.

NZ's Christmas is over their summer holiday so Santa is in the water
having sun fun, instead of in the snow trying to stay warm.

It is funny how at NZ grocery stores you have to pay for each plastic sack
that you want to put your groceries in. After you buy the sacks and food
you have to take them over to this side bar and put your groceries
inside the sacks yourself. Another weird thing is that you
also have to enter from one side of the store and cannot exit
unless it is through the checkout stand (they have like these
barriers that you cannot pass through once you've
walked in them with your cart).
