"Bring a Plate"

HAHAHAHA!!! Oh man! So today at church we were told that there was going to be a fun YSA devotional tonight for us to attend. As the announcement was made to go, they said for everyone to make sure that they"bring a plate". We thought it was kind of weird that they would say that and so when we got ready to go we were like, oh we'll just bring one plate to share because we can fit our desserts and stuff on one plate.

As we got out of the car to go to the devotional our host mom, Nisha, did not realise that we were carrying an empty plate until she saw it in Brooke's hand right after she shut the door. So Nisha was like, oh boy this is going to be a funny story once they get home. After we sat down at the devotional we realized that NO ONE had any plates on their laps and we were so confused. Once the devotional was over we got up to go to the table, where all the treats were, and we didn't know what to do with our empty plate (so we just set it on the table with the rest of the plates that had food on them). haha!!! After eating the treats we saw Margo spilling so Brittany was like, you might as well just use our plate we brought so you don't make a mess. And Margo did just that! We still never understood why no one else brought an empty plate.

Phil came to pick us up after the devotional and treats were over and he was like, "Girls did you bring an empty plate with you to devotional tonight? Because to "bring a plate" means to bring a plate of food." We all just started BUSTING OUT LAUGHING, including Phil. I don't know if I have told you about Phil's laugh yet but it is the BEST. Oh man it is soooooo funny and makes us laugh even ten times more. So the whole car ride home we just laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed. He could not believe that we actually "brought a plate" to the devotional.

(**I got an AWESOME video of us laughing our heads off and with Phil's great laugh, but I can't load it because of the slow Internet. Hopefully I can find somewhere that is faster to load it. Oh man. GOOD TIMES :))

You learn something new everyday. If someone in NZ asks you to bring a plate, make sure you bring it with some food :)
Us with our empty plate that we thought we were supposed to bring.
